The success of attendance at the Treasures of Egypt exhibition leads the Fuenlabrada City Council to extend the opening dates until July 27. Since its inauguration last February, more than 60,000 people have visited this free exhibition at the Tomás and Valiente Art Center (CEART).
The exhibition, which originally ended on June 29, had to extend its hours due to the large influx of visitors. Thus, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, it remained open continuously between 11 am and 9 pm; and on Fridays and holiday eves, from 5 pm to 9 pm.
A boulevard in Fuenlabrada becomes an art gallery
It is a didactic and experiential exhibition organized by the Fuenlabrada City Council in collaboration with the Sophia Foundation, consisting of 140 reproductions and recreations aimed at audiences of all ages.
Here you can see the statue of Pharaoh Khafre, whose original is in the Cairo Museum, that of Ramses II in Luxor, Horus Falcon in Edfu, part of Tutankhamun’s funerary equipment, the Anubis throne on the catafalque, the scribe from the Louvre, or the Rosetta Stone from the British Museum.

The exhibition also includes recreations of pylons (temple entrance columns) and parts of tombs; dioramas such as the scene of priests mummifying or the chapels of Sekhmet or Osiris; a curious collection of Playmobil pieces recreating the realm of the pharaohs; informative panels and documentaries; guided tours and family workshops.
This is not the first time an exhibition housed at the CEART in Fuenlabrada has achieved such attendance success.
