The Fuenlabrada City Council will provide new grants of up to 1,200 euros to help young people in the area cover part of their electricity and gas expenses, given their «significant difficulties» in achieving independence and avoiding social exclusion.

This is a new call for these grants launched by the city council, which the youth population aged between 18 and 35 can apply for, in order to «address the electricity and gas bills they have paid since the date of the previous call,» as highlighted by the city council.

The deadline is now open for young people in the area to submit their applications for these financial aids, which can be requested until September 12th through the Municipal Housing Institute (IMVF), either in person at 11 Norte Street or online.

The grants, with a total budget of 200,000 euros, can cover up to 70% of the bill, with a maximum amount granted of 1,200 euros.

Applicants must meet a series of requirements such as not exceeding 36,000 euros in income per household unit, owning or renting a property in their name, and being registered in the city for at least three months.

Additionally, applicants must be up to date with their tax obligations and not have a family connection with the landlord.

Over 400 people benefited from these grants last year, managed by the Fuenlabrada Municipal Housing Institute (IMVF), with a total allocation of almost 200,000 euros.
